The original BioFleet website was developed to support a biodiesel market development program in western Canada. The purpose of the program was to provide information, education, workshops, demonstrations, tools and common branding to support the expanded use of biodiesel. The program was created by Fraser Basin Council in BC in partnership with several municipalities, fuel suppliers and the Government of Canada. BioFleet was managed and delivered by non-profit organizations in each of the four western provinces from 2006 through 2009 (Fraser Basin Council, C3, Saskatchewan Research Council, Manitoba - CCGA and the Government of Manitoba.

The current BioFleet site and content development were made possible by a financial contribution from Natural Resources Canada as well as Alberta Energy, Alberta Biodiesel Association, the Canola Council of Canada and the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association. C3 managed the update of the BioFleet website in 2011.
